In Panchkula, three men have been arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire from a solar power plant located inside the Chandimandir military station. The accused, identified as Raju, Pintu, and Sahil, also known as Rahul or Kida, are residents of Rajiv Colony in Sector 17. Police seized approximately 32 kilograms of stolen copper wire and a knife believed to have been used in the crime.

Discovery of the Theft

The theft came to light on May 9 after an Army officer lodged a complaint at the Chandimandir police station. Outsourced staff at the site spotted the suspects stealing wiring from solar panels around 3 a.m. and raised an alarm. During a chase, two of the accused were caught, while others managed to flee.

Police Investigation

Following the filing of the First Information Report (FIR), police launched a probe under the supervision of Inspector Rampal. During interrogation, the arrested men revealed the names of their accomplices, leading to further raids. Nearly 250 meters of copper wire was recovered, police said.
