Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Three Young Lives on Bihar Four-Lane Highway
A devastating road accident has left three young men dead in Bihar's Araria district. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night when an unidentified speeding truck collided with a motorcycle carrying the three youths.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The accident took place near Chauhan Tola on the Palasi–Bathnaha four-lane road under the jurisdiction of Narpatganj police station. According to police reports, the impact was so severe that all three motorcycle riders died instantly at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Mohammad Arbaaz (19) - An Intermediate student
- Md Sameer (19) - Employed with Supaul Nagar Panchayat and son of a professor at Supaul Degree College
- Md Ashraf (21) - Assisted in his father's business
All three were residents of Haji Tola in Dharhara village under Raghopur police station area of neighboring Supaul district. Family members revealed that Arbaaz and Sameer were cousins, while Ashraf was their close friend.
Return Journey from Nepal Turns Fatal
Police investigation revealed that the trio was returning home from Nepal via the Jogbani route. They had visited the neighboring country following Eid celebrations and were on their way back when the tragedy struck.
Local residents who witnessed the aftermath immediately alerted authorities. Police teams rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies, which were subsequently sent for post-mortem examination. The bodies reached their native village around 10 am on Monday following completion of autopsy procedures.
Police Investigation Underway
Forbesganj Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mukesh Kumar Saha provided details about the ongoing investigation. "CCTV footage from nearby areas is being thoroughly examined to identify the truck involved in this fatal accident," stated SDPO Saha.
The police are employing multiple investigative approaches:
- Technical analysis and digital forensics to trace the vehicle
- Deployment of special teams from Jogbani police station
- Examination of all available surveillance footage from the area
A formal case has been registered, and authorities have assured that the truck driver will be apprehended soon. The investigation continues as police work to bring the responsible party to justice for this tragic loss of young lives.
