Three Men Killed in Jhunjhunu Bike-Truck Collision, Driver Flees Scene
A devastating head-on collision between a motorcycle and a truck in Chhapar town, Jhunjhunu district, resulted in three fatalities and left one individual with serious injuries late Monday evening. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted a police manhunt for the absconding truck driver.
Details of the Tragic Accident
According to Chhapar Station House Officer Indra Lal Maharshi, the victims were traveling on their bike towards Chhapar when it collided with an oncoming truck. The impact was severe, leading to immediate fatalities and critical injuries.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Bhagirath (27), a resident of Chhapar, who died on the spot.
- Sanwarmal (23), also from Chhapar, who succumbed at the scene.
- Birbal Meghwal (24), who passed away during treatment at a hospital in Sujangarh.
Injured Victim and Police Response
The fourth individual, Ishwarram Meghwal (commonly referred to as Ishwar), a resident of Berasar, sustained serious injuries in the crash. Locals rushed him to the government Bagdiya Hospital in Sujangarh for initial care. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to Jaipur for advanced medical treatment.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Bidasar Deputy Superintendent of Police Nemichand promptly reached the scene to oversee the investigation. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families after the completion of postmortem procedures.
Driver Flees, Police Launch Search Operation
In a concerning development, police reported that the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the vehicle. The truck was reportedly loaded with wheat from the Food Corporation of India (FCI). Authorities have initiated a comprehensive search operation to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
This tragic incident highlights ongoing road safety concerns in the region, with local officials urging for increased vigilance and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such fatalities in the future.
