Tragic Late-Night Crash on Rajkot Overbridge Claims Three Lives

A devastating car accident on the Jetalsar railway overbridge in Rajkot district has resulted in three fatalities and left one person in critical condition. The horrific incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, as the vehicle was returning from the Bhavnath fair in Junagadh.

Details of the Fatal Collision

According to police reports, a Skoda car carrying four individuals was traveling at high speed when the driver allegedly lost control. The vehicle violently smashed into the overbridge wall and overturned completely. The impact was so severe that it led to immediate tragic consequences.

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Arun Vala, aged 20
  • Muskan Bagda, aged 21
  • Jaydeep Chauhan, aged 20

The fourth occupant, Amish Parmar, sustained critical injuries in the crash and is currently undergoing intensive medical treatment at a hospital in Junagadh.

Police Investigation Underway

Jetpur taluka police have registered a formal case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident. Police Inspector A R Herma stated that preliminary evidence suggests overspeeding as the likely cause of the driver losing control of the vehicle.

"The four were traveling in a Skoda car and were on their way back to Jetpur when the driver allegedly lost control due to overspeeding," Inspector Herma explained. "The vehicle rammed into the overbridge wall and overturned with tremendous force."

Sequence of Events and Medical Response

The tragedy unfolded rapidly after the collision. Arun Vala and Muskan Bagda were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. Jaydeep Chauhan and Amish Parmar were immediately rushed to a hospital in Junagadh for emergency medical attention.

Despite medical efforts, Jaydeep Chauhan later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Amish Parmar remains in critical condition, fighting for his life under medical supervision.

Background of the Victims

Police have confirmed that three of the victims—Arun Vala, Jaydeep Chauhan, and Amish Parmar—were residents of Dasijivan Para in Jetpur Navagadh. Muskan Bagda hailed from Raydi village in Jamkandorna and worked as nursing staff at a private hospital in Jetpur, adding a layer of tragedy as she was a healthcare professional.

Ongoing Investigation Challenges

Investigators face a significant challenge in determining who was driving the car at the time of the accident. With three victims deceased and the sole survivor in critical condition, police officials acknowledge that crucial details remain unclear.

Authorities have indicated that further clarity is expected only once Amish Parmar, the lone survivor, regains consciousness and is medically stable enough to provide a statement about the events leading up to the crash.

The Jetpur taluka police continue their investigation, examining all available evidence while the community mourns this tragic loss of young lives following what should have been a festive return from the Bhavnath fair.
