Three Friends Killed, One Critical in Ujjain Road Accident

A devastating head-on collision between a car and a loaded truck on the Ujjain-Nagda road on Tuesday resulted in three fatalities and left one person in critical condition. The four occupants of the car were close friends who were on their way to the Sanwariya Ji temple for darshan when the tragic accident occurred near Goyala village, just after the toll plaza.

Details of the Collision and Rescue Efforts

Due to the severe impact of the collision, the car was completely mangled, while the front portion of the truck also sustained significant damage. Upon receiving the alert, officers from the Bhairugadh police station swiftly reached the accident spot. A crane was deployed to separate the two entangled vehicles, enabling rescue operations to proceed.

All four injured individuals were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention. Tragically, two of the victims—identified as Devendra and Kailash, also known as Rinku, both residents of Abdalpur—were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Victims' Conditions and Police Investigation

The other two victims, Pravesh Sharma from Indira Nagar and Suresh Navalani from Sindhi Colony, were transferred to a private hospital in serious condition. By Tuesday evening, Suresh Navalani succumbed to his injuries, raising the death toll to three. His body was taken to Charak Hospital for a postmortem examination, which was scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Pravesh Sharma remains in critical condition and is currently receiving intensive treatment at a local private hospital. Meanwhile, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle at the accident site and fled the scene. Bhairugadh police station in-charge Shailendra Pratap Singh Rajawat confirmed that authorities are actively tracing the driver based on the vehicle's registration number. A formal case has been registered in connection with the incident.
