GURGAON: Three individuals have been detained by police for allegedly creating a disturbance at a housing society in Gurgaon by playing loud music from an SUV and assaulting a security guard who asked them to stop, authorities said on Sunday.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on Saturday night at Sare Homes Society in Sector 92. According to news agency PTI, police have taken three individuals into custody and are questioning them in connection with the matter.
A purported video of the incident shows loud music being played from an SUV with its doors open, while one of the men is seen dancing on the vehicle's hood.
Police Action
Police reported that two of the accused had come from outside to meet a tenant residing in the society. All three have been taken into custody. Authorities have also seized two vehicles, including the SUV involved in the incident.
RWA Response
The Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of the society has initiated action against the tenant who invited the visitors. The association has asked the tenant to vacate the flat within two days.
RWA president Praveen Malik stated that the tenant had previously been served a notice. In a post on social media platform X, he alleged that the youths created a disturbance in the society's common area after consuming alcohol and assaulted the security guard who objected to their behavior. Malik said, "Such antisocial activities by these elements are increasing in Gurgaon, due to which civilized people are concerned."
Background of Accused
Police revealed that the two visitors are residents of Garhi Harsaru and work as property dealers. Further investigation is underway.
