Three elderly murdered in Prayagraj, youth booked

PRAYAGRAJ: Three elderly members of a family were allegedly murdered at their home in Kukur Katwa village on Tuesday, with police registering a case against a 22-year-old local resident after relatives expressed suspicion over his involvement in the killings.

The victims were identified as Shyam Lal (65), Amravati (60) and Indravati (60). Police said all three bodies bore injury marks on the head.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Chandra Yadav said the bodies were recovered from the village and sent for post-mortem examination.

According to the officer, family members have expressed suspicion that Himanshu Yadav (22), a youth from the same village, committed the murders. Based on the complaint received, a case has been registered against him.

Police teams have been formed to arrest the absconding accused and the motive behind the incident will only be ascertained after the arrest.

A formal complaint has been received, and a case is being registered against that person, the police said.
