Police Register Case After Jail Warder's Complaint
On a complaint from a jail warder, Sector 49 police registered a case against all three inmates. They started an immediate investigation into the incident. The warder, Tarun, was on duty in the jail's factory area around 11:30 AM when the fight erupted.
Warder's Account of the Violent Altercation
Warder Tarun stated in his complaint that the three inmates rushed into the factory area. They began fighting fiercely. The prisoners picked up iron angles kept there and used them as weapons.
When wardens tried to intervene, the inmates allegedly pushed them away. They obstructed the wardens from performing their official duties. This resistance complicated efforts to control the situation quickly.
Identities of the Inmates Involved
The police identified the three prisoners involved in the attack.
- Kailash Chauhan from Sector 89, Faridabad
- Amritpal Singh, also known as Gujjar, from Mohali
- Manjeet, who uses multiple aliases including Mota, Rahul, and Parva, from Sonipat
All three inmates have multiple cases registered against them. They were lodged in the same barrack at the time of the incident.
Injuries Sustained and Medical Treatment
Kailash Chauhan sustained significant injuries during the fight. Jail authorities took him to GMCH-32 for proper medical care. The other two inmates suffered minor injuries. They received treatment at the jail hospital itself.
Police Statement on Jail Discipline Disruption
Police officials said the three inmates disrupted jail discipline with their actions. They also obstructed wardens who were on duty. This behavior violated prison rules and created a security concern.
