Tragic Road Accidents Claim Three Lives in Jharkhand Districts
In a devastating series of events, three individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents across Chatra and Hazaribag districts of Jharkhand on Saturday, according to local police authorities. The incidents have left communities in mourning and prompted ongoing investigations into the causes of these fatal collisions.
Community Health Officer Among Fatalities
A community health officer (CHO) stationed at Chatra Sadar Hospital was tragically killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near the Indu fuel station at Pandemahua village. The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of Giddhaur police station, where the impact proved fatal for the medical professional.
The deceased has been identified as Sachin Kumar, a resident of Giddhaur. Following the collision, local residents rushed the victims to Sadar Hospital, where medical personnel determined Sachin required transfer to Hazaribag for advanced care. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries during transit, marking a profound loss for both his family and the healthcare community he served.
Two additional individuals sustained serious injuries in the same accident. Naseeb Bhuiyan and Anand Bhuiyan, both residents of Sinduwari village under Giddhaur police station jurisdiction, remain in critical condition as medical teams work to stabilize their injuries.
Purushottam Agnihotri, the officer in-charge of Giddhaur police station, confirmed that "an investigation is under way to ascertain the exact cause of the accident." Following completion of the post-mortem examination, Sachin Kumar's remains were respectfully handed over to his grieving relatives.
Additional Fatal Collisions Reported
In a separate incident within Hazaribag district, a young motorcyclist lost his life in a violent collision with a truck at Barhi Chowk. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Bablu Rana from Panchmadhav Kolanga village, was riding his motorcycle when the catastrophic impact occurred.
Eyewitness accounts describe the motorcycle as completely mangled under the force of the collision. Local residents transported the injured youth to the subdivisional hospital in Barhi, where medical staff immediately referred him to Hazaribag for emergency treatment. Similar to the earlier case, Bablu Rana succumbed to his injuries during transportation.
Police authorities have registered a formal case and launched a comprehensive investigation into this fatal accident. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the truck involved in the collision has been successfully traced, and the driver has been apprehended as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Toto Driver Killed in Third Incident
A third fatal accident occurred when a truck traveling from Hazaribag toward Bagodar collided with a toto vehicle at Jabra Chowk under Daru police station limits. The impact proved immediately fatal for the toto operator.
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Rinku Khan, also known as Karu Khan, a resident of Irga village in Daru block. Following the collision, Rinku was transported to the sadar hospital where medical professionals declared him brought dead upon arrival.
Standard investigative procedures were followed, with the body undergoing post-mortem examination before being released to family members for final rites. This third fatality within a single day has highlighted growing concerns about road safety in the region.
These tragic incidents have collectively claimed three lives across two districts, leaving families devastated and communities grappling with the sudden losses. Police investigations continue across all three cases as authorities work to determine precise causes and potentially implement preventive measures to enhance road safety in the affected areas.
