Three More Suspects Arrested in Minjur Burglary and Assault Case
In a disturbing incident near Minjur, Chennai, three additional youths have been apprehended by police for their alleged involvement in a violent attack on a teenage college girl. The assault occurred after the girl bravely resisted a burglary attempt at her residence on Wednesday night.
Details of the Terrifying Incident
The victim, a resident of Vallur near Minjur, was studying on the terrace of her house around 10 PM when a gang of five intoxicated men forcibly entered the premises. According to police reports, the group had consumed alcohol prior to attempting the theft.
When the teenage girl raised an alarm upon discovering the intruders, the accused responded with brutal violence. They attacked her with sharp weapons, inflicting multiple cut injuries that required immediate medical attention.
Community Response and Initial Arrest
Hearing the commotion, nearby residents rushed to the girl's assistance, prompting the gang to flee the scene. During their escape, one of the accused, identified as Dilli Babu, jumped from the terrace in a desperate attempt to evade capture.
Local residents successfully apprehended Dilli Babu and immediately informed both police authorities and the girl's relatives. The injured teenager was promptly rushed to a hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment for her wounds.
Police Investigation and Additional Arrests
Police investigations revealed that Dilli Babu, who was initially detained, has pending criminal cases against him. Special police teams were quickly formed to track down the remaining suspects involved in this heinous crime.
Through coordinated efforts, authorities have now arrested three more individuals connected to the attack. The newly apprehended suspects have been identified as Muthamizhselvan (24), Siddiq (19), and Lokesh (22).
