Pimpri Chinchwad police have announced significant traffic changes for Tuesday, January 20. These changes affect several key areas due to Stage I of the Pune Grand Tour. The race will start at TCS Circle in Hinjewadi and finish at Dr DY Patil International Institute in Akurdi. It covers a distance of 91.8 kilometers across the Mulshi-Maval-PCMC stretch.
Traffic Changes and Timings
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vivek Patil issued the notification. The traffic diversions will be in force from 9 am until 5 pm. The actual race will take place between 1:30 pm and 3:45 pm. Police vehicles and authorized vehicles involved in the event's organization will not face these restrictions.
Hinjewadi Division Road Closures
Traffic from Bhoirwadi village towards Helipad Circle will stop. Vehicles must use Capital and Circle Road via internal roads. Symphony Society traffic heading to Bapuji Bua Temple and Hinjewadi Phase-3 will divert via Maan village towards Bapuji Bua Khind and Chande Phata.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk traffic moving to Shinde Vasti will redirect via Tata Junction chowk towards Shinde Vasti and Laxmi Chowk. Laxmi Chowk vehicles going to Kasarsai and Marunji villages will use Tata T-Junction Chowk and Phase-3 route.
Mezza-9 Chowk traffic towards Laxmi Chowk is prohibited. It will divert via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk. Kasturi Chowk traffic heading to Vinode Vasti Chowk will reroute via Bhumkar Chowk towards Vinode Vasti Corner. Drivers can choose Indian Oil Chowk or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk routes.
All vehicles from Shani Mandir towards Bhumkar underpass will stop. They must divert via Indira College and make a U-turn for Tathawade underpass.
Dehu Road Division Restrictions
Traffic from Krishna Traders going to PDCC Bank will stop. Vehicles will use internal Dehu Road village roads. Heavy vehicle movement from Parandwadi Phata towards Bebadohal faces restrictions. Traffic will reroute via Urse Road after a right turn from Parandwadi.
Nigdi Division Alternate Routes
Traffic from Chaphekar Chowk to Old Jakat Naka via Chinchwad Road moving towards Walhekarwadi remains closed. Motorists must use Old Jakat Naka–Jain School–Seven Orange Hospital route.
Chinchwad Nagar traffic heading to Walhekarwadi via Kolhapuri Tea Point Hotel Road will stop. It will divert via Chinchwad Nagar to Bijlinagar Road.
Vehicles from Bhakti Shakti Chowk side to Walhekarwadi through Triveni Hospital Chowk Road are not allowed. They will divert through Chintamani Chowk and Bijlinagar Chowk.
Traffic from Aher Garden towards Walhekarwadi Rover Road faces restrictions. It will divert via Chintamani Ganesh Mandir–Walhekarwadi Chowk Road.
Movement from Gurudwara Chowk to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Walhekarwadi will stop. Alternate access routes will go via Jamaat Masjid to Walhekarwadi to Gurudwara Road.
Wakad Division Diversions
Traffic between Bhaumkar Chowk and Dange Chowk will divert via Decathlon Tathawade to Tathawade underpass route. The road from Jaguar Showroom to Bhumkar Chowk closes. Commuters must take Phoenix Mall road.
Traffic from Phoenix Mall towards Kala Khadak Signal will divert via Skyline Road and Chaudhari Park Road. All vehicles from Kala Khadak to T Junction will divert via Decathlon and Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway.
The road from Sate Chowk to Jadhav Corner closes to traffic. Vehicles will divert via Datt Mandir or Chaudhari Park road.
Residents and commuters should plan their travel accordingly. These measures aim to ensure smooth conduct of the Pune Grand Tour while minimizing public inconvenience.
