A traffic constable was assaulted after stopping a motorcycle that was being ridden in a rash manner with three persons on board in Bengaluru. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Incident Details
Lakshman Nayak, a 30-year-old constable attached to the Jnanabharathi Traffic Police Station, was on duty near a traffic signal when he observed a motorcycle carrying three persons. The vehicle was being driven in a rash and negligent manner. The constable signalled the rider to stop, but instead of complying, the occupants allegedly attacked him.
Arrests Made
Following the assault, the police launched a search operation and apprehended two suspects. They have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for assaulting a public servant and other charges. Further investigation is underway to trace any additional individuals involved.
The incident highlights the challenges faced by traffic police officers in enforcing road safety rules. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement personnel and refrain from such unlawful acts.
