The district police in Coimbatore have officially announced comprehensive traffic diversions that will be enforced across the city on Monday. This significant measure is being taken in direct view of the annual car festival scheduled at the historic Arulmigu Ranganathar Temple located in Karamadai. The diversions are designed to ensure smooth vehicular movement and enhance public safety during the large-scale religious event.
Specific Route Changes for Light and Heavy Vehicles
According to the detailed police notification, light vehicles that are heading towards Coimbatore from Mettupalayam must follow a designated alternate route. This prescribed path includes traveling via Gandhinagar Junction, proceeding through Chinnathothipalayam, Pellathi, Kannarpalayam four Road Junction, and finally reaching Kottai Pirivu Junction.
In contrast, heavy vehicles destined for Coimbatore are required to take a different diversion. These larger vehicles should proceed to Coimbatore via Thenthirupathi, Annur, and Kovilpalayam to avoid congestion and ensure safer transit.
Diverted Routes for Vehicles from Coimbatore
Similarly, vehicles originating from Coimbatore and traveling towards Mettupalayam will face specific diversions. The police have mandated that these vehicles be diverted through Periyanaickenpalayam, Pettathapuram, Thimmampalayam, Mangalakkarai Puthur, and the Teachers Colony flyover to reach their destination efficiently.
