Trichy: The Trichy city police conducted an auction of nine condemned vehicles on Tuesday, generating Rs 9.5 lakh. The vehicles were displayed at the Armed Reserve Police ground in K K Nagar, Trichy, and auctioned following directives from city police commissioner N Kamini.
Auction Details
The prematurely condemned vehicles included two riot control vehicles, three jeeps, a tow truck, a mortuary van, and two SUVs. Around 200 participants purchased tokens, each costing approximately Rs 5,000, and were allowed to inspect the vehicles before submitting their bids.
Pricing and Process
Base prices were determined based on the age, condition, and operational status of the vehicles. After public display, bids were collected. The entire amount of Rs 9.5 lakh, including taxes, was deposited into the government treasury by the city police.
