Trichy: The Airport police have booked six young men on charges of attempting to murder a 34-year-old man following a verbal altercation that erupted from a road rage incident in KK Nagar, Trichy. The victim and his friend, who tried to intervene, sustained cut injuries and were admitted to Trichy MGMGH. Police have launched a search for all six absconding accused.
Incident Details
Police said the victim, R Aravind Kanna, a resident of Kulavaipatti Road near Trichy airport, was riding a two-wheeler near Subramaniyar Thidal. At that time, Thiruvarasan from Jancyrani Street in KK Nagar approached him from the opposite direction on his two-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner. Aravind reprimanded Thiruvarasan and questioned him for the reckless riding. Both argued and then left the spot, police said.
Attack and Aftermath
However, Thiruvarasan was upset. He, along with his friend Karthi, also from Jancyrani Street, and four others, returned to the location where the altercation had taken place. They intercepted Aravind, who was returning with his friend S Mugeshwaran, 24, and attacked them with sharp weapons. Both men sustained cut injuries on their hips and legs.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured duo, and admitted them to MGMGH. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
