Truck Driver Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Pune's Chinchwad
A tragic road accident in Pune's Chinchwad area has resulted in the death of a 42-year-old motorcyclist, with the Nigdi police swiftly arresting the truck driver involved on charges of causing death by negligence. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns in the region.

The police have identified the deceased as Subhash Ovhal, a resident of Sane Chowk. According to an officer from the Nigdi police station, the accident took place around 11:30 am when Ovhal was traveling from Thermax Chowk towards Bird Valley Chowk in Chinchwad. In a dangerous maneuver, the truck attempted to overtake Ovhal's motorcycle, leading to a direct collision.
As a result of the impact, Ovhal fell from his motorcycle and tragically came under the wheels of the same heavy vehicle. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention. However, doctors at the facility pronounced him dead upon arrival, confirming the severity of the injuries sustained in the accident.
