According to preliminary reports from the Hingna Police Station, the driver lost control of his heavy vehicle near a gas substation within their jurisdiction. The truck subsequently overturned in a violent crash, trapping Thakare underneath the wreckage.

The rescue team transported Vivek Thakare to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Nagpur for emergency medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals at the hospital, doctors were unable to save the young driver's life.
Thakare was officially declared dead in the early hours of Tuesday, April 21, marking a somber conclusion to the rescue operation.
