Four people were injured in a serious road accident in Gurugram when a speeding truck collided with an Excise and Taxation Department vehicle. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday near Sector 77 on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR).

Details of the Incident

According to a complaint filed by Mahim Sharma, an excise officer stationed in Narnaul, he was on checking duty in Gurugram with his team around 1:30 AM. The official car was parked on SPR Road when a speeding truck passed by.

The excise team attempted to signal the truck to stop, but the driver ignored the signals and rammed into the government vehicle. The severe impact caused the Excise Department vehicle to overturn, trapping the team members inside.

Rescue and Medical Response

Passersby quickly intervened and pulled everyone out safely from the overturned vehicle. The injured individuals were immediately taken to Civil Hospital in Sector 10 for medical treatment.

The injured include excise officer Mahim Sharma, driver Deshraj, attendant Umesh, and head constable Krishna Kumar. All four sustained injuries in the collision and are receiving care at the hospital.

Police Investigation and FIR

The accused driver was identified as Mahendra, a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh. He fled the scene after the accident, leaving the truck behind. An FIR has been registered at the Kherki Daula police station in connection with the hit-and-run case.

A spokesperson for the Gurugram police stated, "The police have impounded the truck. We are conducting raids to nab the driver." The investigation is ongoing to locate and apprehend the fleeing driver.
