Arrest Made in Goraya Dhaba Robbery
In a swift operation, Jalandhar police have arrested two individuals in connection with an armed robbery that occurred near a dhaba in Goraya. The suspects were apprehended on the outskirts of the town, following a tip-off from local residents.
The robbery took place late Tuesday night when a group of armed men targeted a truck driver who had stopped at the dhaba. The assailants, brandishing firearms, robbed the driver of cash and valuables before fleeing the scene.
Police Action and Recovery
Upon receiving the complaint, police launched a manhunt and set up checkpoints. Acting on intelligence, they intercepted the suspects' vehicle. The two accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harjinder Singh, were taken into custody without incident.
From their possession, law enforcement officials recovered a country-made pistol, cartridges, and the stolen cash amounting to Rs 1.2 lakh. The police are also questioning the duo to determine if they were involved in similar crimes in the region.
