Poonthura police on Wednesday arrested two persons for allegedly attacking a group of youths travelling in a car and smashing the vehicle's windows at Bilal Nagar in Poonthura. The arrested were identified as Ashraf (56) of Muttathara and Badaruddin (42) of Beemapally.
Incident Details
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday night when a group of youths from Puthenpally were travelling via Bilal Nagar in a car. The accused allegedly blocked the road and prevented the vehicle from moving forward. When the passengers asked them to clear the road, the accused allegedly turned violent.
Attack and Injuries
Police said the duo smashed the front and rear windows of the car and assaulted one of the youths. During the attack, the accused allegedly brandished a knife and injured the complainant on the neck. The victims are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Legal Action
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched a probe. The accused were taken into custody subsequently. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
