In a significant breakthrough, the Amritsar police have arrested two individuals accused of providing financial support to the network of foreign-based gangster Happy Jatt. The arrests were made following a detailed investigation into the gang's operations in the region.
Details of the Arrest
The suspects, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh, were taken into custody from different locations in Amritsar. According to police officials, they were actively involved in channeling funds to Happy Jatt's syndicate, which is known for extortion and other criminal activities.
Modus Operandi
The accused allegedly collected money from local businesses and individuals under threats and then transferred the funds to Happy Jatt's associates abroad. The police have seized several mobile phones and documents that provide evidence of these transactions.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amritsar, Dr. S. B. S. Sohi, stated that the arrests are part of a larger crackdown on the gang's network. “We are committed to dismantling the entire funding chain that supports such criminal elements,” he said.

Happy Jatt, a notorious gangster currently based overseas, has been involved in multiple cases of extortion, murder, and drug trafficking. His network has been a major challenge for law enforcement agencies in Punjab.
