Two Arrested for Harassing Sisters in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: Two men were arrested on Monday for allegedly harassing two sisters in the Sector 14 market on Friday, according to police. The incident occurred around 9:15 PM when the sisters had gone to eat momos in the market.

Accused Identified

The accused have been identified as Nishant and Monty. Nishant, a resident of Basai village, runs an ice factory, while Monty works as an executive with a cement company. Police stated that both men were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Incident Details

The complainant, a second-year BBA student, told police that a white Scorpio stopped near them as they reached the market. According to police, the driver of the SUV first began making obscene gestures. “He also signalled them to sit in the vehicle. When they objected, the accused threatened them and abused them,” a police officer said.

The complainant initially could not note down the complete registration number of the Scorpio and could only remember the last digits as 1001. Later, she identified the vehicle number as HR-26 EY-1001.

Legal Action

The complainant’s statement was recorded at the Sector 16 women’s police station, and a case was registered on Saturday.
