Two Men Arrested for Murdering Security Guard in Abandoned Chennai School
In a shocking incident near Ponneri, Chennai, two men were arrested on Friday for the brutal murder of a security guard who was residing in an abandoned private school at Thatchur. The police investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Palanivel, was killed after he refused to give the suspects money to purchase liquor.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to police reports, the suspects, John, aged 24, and Manikandan, also 24, entered the school campus while in an inebriated state. They approached Palanivel and demanded money from him. When the security guard resisted their demands, the situation escalated violently.
The duo allegedly assaulted Palanivel with a wooden log, causing severe head injuries. After the attack, they fled the scene, leaving the victim critically injured. A neighbor later discovered Palanivel lying dead in the school premises and immediately alerted the authorities.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The Kavaraipettai police responded promptly to the scene. Palanivel's body was sent to the Ponneri Government Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence.
Police officials utilized CCTV footage from the crime scene to identify the perpetrators. The video evidence clearly showed John and Manikandan entering and leaving the school premises around the time of the murder. Based on this crucial footage, the police were able to track down and arrest both suspects.
