Bharatpur Police Make Arrests in Heinous Gang Rape Case of Minor
In a significant development, police in Bharatpur on Sunday arrested two individuals in connection with the brutal gang rape of a 14-year-old girl. The accused have been identified as Jitendra Pujari (29) and Aakash Koli (27). This case has sent shockwaves through the community and highlights ongoing concerns about women's safety.
Details of the Abduction and Assault
The horrific incident occurred on the night of March 10, when the minor victim was allegedly abducted from outside her home in Alwar. According to the police report filed at Mathura Gate police station on March 11, four individuals arrived in an auto and forcibly took the girl away. ASP Pankaj Yadav (IPS) confirmed that the victim's father registered the complaint, stating that his daughter was walking outside their residence when the abduction took place.
Witnesses in the vicinity immediately alerted the family about the disturbing incident. Police launched searches but initially found no immediate clues. Later that same night, around 2 AM, the minor was discovered wandering in a distressed state some distance from her home, and authorities were promptly notified.
Police Investigation and Victim's Account
During subsequent questioning, the minor provided harrowing details of her ordeal. She revealed that the abductors took her towards the Agra-Jaipur highway, where all four individuals subjected her to multiple gang rapes. After the assault, she was left in Bharatpur as the perpetrators fled the scene in the auto.
The police investigation has been intensive since the case was registered. While two of the four accused have now been apprehended, authorities continue their search for the remaining individuals involved in this heinous crime. The arrest of Pujari and Koli represents a crucial step in delivering justice for the victim and her family.
Community Response and Legal Proceedings
This case has drawn attention to the vulnerability of minors and the need for enhanced security measures in residential areas. The swift action by witnesses who reported the abduction and the subsequent police response demonstrate community vigilance against such crimes.
Legal proceedings are now underway against the arrested accused, with charges expected to include abduction, gang rape, and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police have emphasized their commitment to ensuring all perpetrators are brought to justice and that the victim receives appropriate support during this traumatic period.
