Two auto drivers held for harassing student in Madurai

Madurai: Two share-auto drivers have been arrested for allegedly harassing a Class XII student near South Gate bus stop on Friday. The accused were identified as Mohammed Ibrahim, 65, of Panaikulam village, and Abbas, 55, of Alangulam.

Police said the girl, who was waiting at the bus stop after school, alerted the police about the incident. Acting swiftly, the ‘Singapenn Task Force’ team rushed to the spot, ensured the victim’s safety, and informed her parents.

Based on her father’s complaint, a case was registered at South All Women Police Station. Following inquiry at the spot and nearby auto stands, the suspects were traced and arrested. Both were remanded in judicial custody.
