Vijayawada: Two policemen from Chittoor district have been arrested for allegedly colluding with a gang of thieves to rob a man of Rs 10 lakh. The incident, which came to light in Gangadhara Nellore (GD Nellore), has raised serious concerns about misconduct within the police force.

The accused have been identified as traffic ASI Lokanatham and AR head constable Ravichandran, both attached to the Chittoor police department. According to investigators, the two policemen allegedly worked in coordination with a robbery gang and meticulously planned the crime before targeting the victim.

The gang used a pre-planned strategy to trap the victim. After threatening him, they forcibly took away Rs 10 lakh in cash. Initially, the victim remained silent out of fear. However, he later approached higher police authorities and lodged a complaint. Following this, the involvement of the two policemen came to light, triggering an internal inquiry.
