Two Killed, Two Critically Injured in High-Speed Collision on NH-43 in Anuppur
A devastating road accident on National Highway 43 in Anuppur district claimed two lives and left two others with serious injuries on Thursday night. According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded when a speeding car violently rammed into a diesel-laden tractor-trolley, causing catastrophic damage to both vehicles.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The horrific crash occurred at approximately 8:30 PM near Nigwani Tiraaha, within the jurisdiction of the Kotma police station. The car, which was returning from Shahdol towards Rajnagar, collided with the tractor-trolley moving ahead on the highway. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled beyond recognition, while the tractor-trolley veered off the road and landed in a nearby agricultural field.
Victims Identified by Authorities
Police have officially identified the two individuals who lost their lives in this tragic incident. The deceased include Pyare Sharma, aged 45, who was driving the car at the time of the accident, and Geeta Panika, aged 44. Both victims were residents of Rajnagar. The two other occupants of the car sustained critical injuries in the crash.
Injured Persons and Medical Response
The injured individuals have been identified as Meena Dewangan, 33, from Manendragarh, and Harishankar Chaturvedi, 62. Both suffered serious injuries and were initially rushed to Kotma Hospital for emergency medical attention. Due to the severity of their conditions, they were subsequently referred to the district hospital for advanced treatment and care.

Following the violent collision, traffic on NH-43 was significantly disrupted for an extended period as emergency responders and police worked at the scene.
