Two Friends Stabbed in Bhopal Over Old Rivalry

Bhopal: Two friends were allegedly attacked and stabbed by a group of 8-10 youths over an old rivalry in the Aishbagh area on Tuesday night. Acting on the complaint, Aishbagh police registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused and launched an investigation.

Details of the Incident

Aishbagh SHO Sandeep Pawar said that the injured, Piyush Dhanak, 24, and Prashant, 24, are residents of Shankaracharya Nagar. On Monday night, both friends were standing near a hotel when the accused — identified as Aman Soni, Nikki, Kalu alias Nilesh, Chhotu and their associates — reached the spot and allegedly assaulted them before attacking them with knives.

After the attack, the accused fled from the scene. Both injured youths were admitted to a hospital.

Background of the Attack

Police said that a day before the incident, the complainant side had allegedly been involved in a physical altercation with the accused group in Ashoka Garden area. Police suspect the attack was a fallout of that earlier dispute. Police said the exact motive behind the assault would become clear after the accused are arrested.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are searching for the suspects. Further updates are expected as the case develops.
