Panchkula Police Arrest Two in Murder Conspiracy, Uncover Drug & Weapon Network
Two held for aiding killers in Chandigarh, Panchkula murder cases

In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, Panchkula Police have arrested two men accused of providing critical logistical support to killers involved in high-profile murder cases, including the recent killing of Inderpreet alias Parry in Chandigarh. The arrests have exposed a nexus involving weapon supply, drug trafficking, and planned murders.

Arrests Made in Kharar Based on Intelligence

The police, acting on specific intelligence inputs, apprehended the two accused from Kharar. They have been identified as Shivam Sharma (23) and Gopal Kumar (21), both residents of Faridkot. The duo is charged with supplying weapons, a vehicle, mobile phones, and shelter to the assailants who murdered Inderpreet Parry in Chandigarh's Sector 26 on December 1.

Investigations revealed their prior involvement in a similar crime. Earlier, they were accused of sheltering the killers of national Kabaddi player, Sonu Nolta, in Pinjore. A separate case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act has already been registered at the Pinjore police station in that matter.

Criminal Past and Chilling Future Plans Uncovered

During preliminary investigation, DCP Crime and Traffic Manpreet Singh Sudan disclosed the criminal backgrounds of the arrested men. Shivam Sharma is already facing a drug trafficking case in Faridkot, while Gopal Kumar has two criminal cases related to assault and brawl registered against him.

Interrogation led to more alarming revelations. The accused confessed that along with their associates, Ankush and Piyush Piplani, they were planning another murder in Faridkot. Their target was a youth identified as Ajay. Police also confirmed their active involvement in heroin trafficking, adding a narcotics angle to their criminal portfolio.

Links to Notorious Criminals and Police Crackdown

The investigation further uncovered that the arrested accused were in contact with the notorious criminal Harry Boxer. They had previously provided shelter to Ankush and Piyush Piplani, who are wanted in the Sonu Nolta murder case.

The accused were produced in a local court on December 15 and have been remanded in five-day police custody. The police, under the supervision of ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj and a detective staff team led by Inspector Mandeep Singh, are now intensively questioning them. The focus is to trace the entire weapon supply network, the movement of vehicles used in crimes, and the hideouts of the absconding murder accused, including prime accused Piyush Piplani.

DCP Sudan emphasized that Panchkula Police is following a zero-tolerance policy against organized crime, murder, and drug trafficking. He highlighted that under Operation Trackdown, the police have recently foiled four potential murder plots. He reiterated that strict action will continue against anyone threatening law and order. Police officials indicated that arrests of other suspects linked to these murder cases are expected soon.
