Hazaribag: Two individuals lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries in two distinct road accidents that occurred on the GT Road in Hazaribag district on Sunday.
First Incident: Pickup Van Plunges Off Bridge
In the first mishap, a speeding pickup van laden with tomatoes lost control and plunged nearly 10 feet below a bridge near Gorhar village. The driver, identified as Aditya Soren, 23, a resident of East Burdwan in West Bengal, died on the spot. The helper accompanying him was injured. The deceased's body was sent to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribag for post-mortem examination.
Second Incident: Chain Collision of Four Trucks
Around 10 am, four trucks collided in a chain accident. Jai Kumar Rai, 34, a truck driver from Vaishali district in Bihar, died on the spot, while three others suffered critical injuries. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
