Two Men Apprehended in Bokaro for Alleged Sexual Assault on 15-Year-Old Girl
In a disturbing incident in Bokaro district, two men were arrested on Sunday for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl. According to police officials, the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the minor's mother at the local police station on Sunday evening.
Details of the Alleged Assault
The incident reportedly occurred when the minor girl had gone to a pond near her residence. The accused individuals allegedly spotted her and attempted to undress her forcefully. Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh stated, "The accused spotted the minor and tried to undress her forcefully. When she resisted and raised an alarm, the accused fled the scene."
Upon returning home, the girl immediately narrated the traumatic experience to her mother. The duo then proceeded to the nearest police station to file an official complaint, prompting swift investigative action.
Swift Police Response and Legal Action
Law enforcement authorities acted promptly upon receiving the complaint. An officer from the local police station confirmed, "An FIR was registered under Sections 70(2)/62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act. The suspects were identified and were arrested in raids which were carried out on Sunday night itself."
The police conducted targeted raids on Sunday night, leading to the identification and apprehension of both suspects. During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime, according to official statements.
Evidence Seized and Investigation Continues
As part of the investigation, police have seized crucial evidence including the motorcycle used during the incident and two smartphones belonging to the accused. The seizure of these items is expected to aid in building a stronger case against the perpetrators.
