The Kalewadi police have registered a case of cheating and forgery against two individuals accused of defrauding three people of a total of Rs 21.47 lakh over the past three years. The suspects allegedly promised jobs in the forest department and the Indian Railways.

Complaint Filed

A 35-year-old resident of Susgaon filed a complaint with the Kalewadi police on Tuesday. The suspects provided fake appointment and joining letters to their victims. Police teams have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

Details of the Fraud

An officer from the Kalewadi police stated that the complainant, originally from Palghar district, currently resides in Susgaon. In April 2023, he met two men—one from Jalna and another from Ahilyanagar. The duo assured him a job in the Indian Railways and took Rs 7.87 lakh from him.
