In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Fatehgarh Sahib police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered a substantial quantity of heroin and cash from their possession. The operation was conducted based on a tip-off received by the police team.

Details of the Arrest

The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh, both residents of Fatehgarh Sahib district. During the raid, the police recovered 500 grams of heroin and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash from their custody. The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the local police station.

Police Action

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Ravjot Grewal, stated that the police are committed to eradicating the drug menace from the district. He added that further investigations are underway to trace the source of the drugs and identify other members of the network. The accused will be produced in court to seek police remand for detailed interrogation.
