Gumla: Two boys aged 18 and a 29-year-old man were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl from Chhattisgarh in Simdega district on Sunday. The girl, who had been staying at her aunt’s residence for 10 days, was allegedly dragged away from an engagement ceremony and sexually assaulted in a nearby house, police said.
Police Action
“She went back home on Sunday night and narrated her ordeal before the local police station which lodged a zero FIR. The case was then transferred to Simdega police,” DSP Ranveer Singh said. The authorities acted swiftly, leading to the arrests of the three accused.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are conducting further investigations into the incident, ensuring justice for the victim. The minor has been provided with necessary medical and legal support. The accused remain in custody as the case progresses.
