In a shocking incident from Rajasthan's lake city, Udaipur police have taken into custody three individuals, including the chief executive officer of a local IT firm, on charges of allegedly gang-raping a female manager inside a moving vehicle. The arrests followed a detailed complaint filed by the survivor, with damning evidence reportedly coming from the car's own dashcam recordings.
The Sequence of Events: From Celebration to Assault
The alleged crime traces its origins to a birthday party held on December 20. The gathering, in honor of the IT company's CEO Jayesh Sisodia, commenced at a hotel in Shobhagpura around 9 pm and continued until approximately 1:30 am. As other guests departed, the survivor was left alone. The accused—identified as CEO Jayesh Sisodia, executive head Gaurav Sirohi, and his wife Shilpa—offered to drop her at her residence.
Instead of taking her home, the trio allegedly took her in a car towards the Sukher area. During the journey, they reportedly purchased items resembling cigarettes and forced the woman to consume them. This act caused her to lose consciousness. Upon regaining partial awareness, the survivor stated that she was molested by the CEO and raped by Gaurav Sirohi. Despite her repeated pleas, the accused did not drop her off until around 5 am.
Digital Evidence and Medical Corroboration
A critical element in the case is the dashcam footage from the vehicle. The audio and video recordings are reported to have captured the entire assault and conversations between the accused. The survivor secured this evidence and submitted it to the police. Furthermore, a medical examination conducted later revealed minor injuries on her body, which corroborated her official statements about the violent nature of the incident.
Legal Action and Arrests
The survivor filed a formal police complaint at the Sukher police station on December 23. Acting swiftly on the complaint, law enforcement officials registered a case of gang-rape under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. All three accused were subsequently arrested and produced before a court on Thursday. The court has granted the police a four-day remand for further investigation into the grave allegations.
This case has sent shockwaves through the local community and business circles, highlighting severe concerns about safety and the abuse of power. The police investigation is ongoing.
