UP Girl Reports 5-Year Rape by Father, Pradhan Accused

In a shocking case from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, an 18-year-old girl has reported being repeatedly sexually assaulted by her father for five years. Additionally, she has accused the village head (gram pradhan), whom she approached for help, of also violating her.

Survivor Walks Into Police Station Alone

The survivor's ordeal came to light on Monday morning when she walked alone into a local police station to hand-deliver a written complaint to SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh. According to the FIR, the abuse began when she was a minor. Her father, a property dealer, allegedly raped her repeatedly at night, recorded obscene videos to blackmail her, and threatened to kill her if she spoke out.

Family Indifference and Betrayal

The girl's attempt to seek help from within her family was met with indifference. When she confided in her elder brother, who lives abroad, he dismissed her claims as "unimportant" and labeled her "immature." Left with no family support, the survivor approached the local gram pradhan four months ago, hoping for intervention. Instead of providing protection, the village head allegedly used the opportunity to sexually assault her, the complaint stated.

Legal Action and Investigation

SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered at the Women's police station under various IPC sections, including 376 (rape), 354 (assault to outrage modesty), and 506 (criminal intimidation). "The traumatised survivor has been sent for a medical examination and is receiving counseling. Her statement is being recorded and investigation is underway," SSP said.

The survivor has since moved out of her father's house and is currently staying with a relative. Police are now working to apprehend the father and the village head.
