A day after a 31-year-old food delivery worker died by suicide at his residence, allegedly due to police assault, the detection of crime branch (DCB) in Vadodara has been tasked with the inquiry. The crime branch team will meet eyewitnesses and record statements from the deceased's family members.

Incident Details

On Tuesday night, Dilip Vasava, a food delivery worker, became involved in a quarrel with some friends near his home in the Atladara area. The police were called to the scene. According to Vasava's family, the responding officers assaulted him. Following the alleged assault, Vasava went to the terrace of his apartment building and jumped off. His family rushed him to GMERS Hospital in Gotri, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Family Demands Action

The family has demanded strict action against the policemen who they claim assaulted Vasava. They allege that the police brutality directly led to his suicide. The case has now been transferred to the crime branch for a thorough investigation.
