Residents of Vadodara's Manjalpur area witnessed an unusual spectacle late on Thursday night. A 16-year-old Class 11 student climbed onto a police patrol car and began shouting loudly, refusing to come down. The incident turned a quiet residential street into a scene of chaos, attracting a curious crowd of onlookers.
Police Response to the Disturbance
The city police control room received an urgent call about a girl creating a major disturbance in the locality. A patrol team immediately rushed to the spot. Officers attempted to calm the agitated teenager, but she continued her loud protests.
According to police officials, the girl claimed she had come to meet a boy she described as her boyfriend. When the boy did not come out to meet her, she became increasingly agitated. This frustration quickly escalated into a full-blown public disturbance.
Escalation on the Police Vehicle
The situation took a dramatic turn when the teenager climbed onto the bonnet of the police patrol vehicle. From this elevated position, she continued arguing loudly with both police personnel and members of the public who had gathered to watch the unfolding drama.
In video footage that later circulated widely on social media, the girl can be seen shouting at the top of her voice. At one point, she broke down in tears during the confrontation. She made several claims during the incident, including an assertion that police had taken her away on three previous occasions.
Crowd Intervention and Resolution
As the altercation continued, the crowd grew larger. One man from the gathering attempted to persuade the girl to get down from the vehicle. She responded by questioning whether he had been paid by police to put her inside the patrol car.
Eventually, someone from the crowd physically pulled her down from the police vehicle's bonnet. A woman present at the scene was seen lightly slapping the teenager in what appeared to be an attempt to control her behavior.
Police Investigation and Aftermath
Manjalpur police inspector L D Gamara provided details about the incident. "Following this, she became agitated and started creating a ruckus," Gamara explained regarding the girl's reaction when the boy didn't appear.
Police eventually brought the situation under control and took the teenager to the Manjalpur police station. Officers summoned her parents to the station and provided counseling on how to handle the situation appropriately.
As part of their investigation, police collected blood samples from the girl to determine whether she was under the influence of any substance. After completing necessary procedures, authorities allowed her to leave with her parents.
The late-night incident left Manjalpur residents discussing the unusual events for hours afterward. The viral video of the confrontation continued to circulate on various social media platforms, drawing widespread attention to the teenager's dramatic protest on the police vehicle.
