Vadodara Pan Parlour Owner Survives Murder Plot Orchestrated by Wife and Lover
What initially appeared to be a botched robbery in Vadodara has transformed into a chilling criminal investigation, with police uncovering a dark conspiracy where a pan parlour owner's wife and her alleged lover plotted his murder. The victim, Girish Patel, miraculously survived the brutal attack against overwhelming odds, leading to the arrest of seven individuals including his wife Falguni and her partner Kaushik Sharma.
From Abduction to Survival: The Harrowing Ordeal
On April 7, Girish Patel was returning home on his two-wheeler after closing his pan parlour in the Harni area. As he traveled along Chhani-Sokhda Road, a car deliberately rammed his vehicle, causing him to fall. The occupants then forcibly abducted him, assaulting him inside the moving vehicle while robbing him of his wallet, mobile phone, and cash.
The assailants drove Patel to multiple ATM kiosks, using his debit card to withdraw money before proceeding to Anand. There, on a canal bridge, they threw him into the water in what police describe as a deliberate murder attempt. Believing their mission accomplished, the perpetrators fled the scene.
Against all expectations, Patel survived by clinging desperately to a pillar beneath the bridge throughout the night. At daybreak, he raised an alarm and was rescued by local residents, setting in motion a police investigation that would uncover far more than a simple robbery.
Police Investigation Uncovers Chilling Conspiracy
The Chhani police had initially registered an FIR on April 8 based on Patel's complaint about abduction by unidentified men. However, a thorough probe revealed a much darker reality. Investigators discovered that Patel's wife Falguni had allegedly conspired with her lover Kaushik Sharma to eliminate her husband.
"They planned the kidnapping with the clear intention of murdering Patel," stated a police officer involved in the investigation. "This was not a random crime but a carefully orchestrated plot."
Using CCTV footage, police identified 23-year-old Rudrakumar Raval, who had been trailing Patel on the day of the incident. Raval confessed to providing information about Patel's movements to another accused, Narendra Goswami. This breakthrough led investigators directly to Sharma, whose mobile phone examination revealed extensive chats and photographs with Falguni, exposing their secret relationship.
Relationship History and Murder-for-Hire Scheme
Police investigations uncovered that Sharma and Falguni were previously engaged but could not marry for unspecified reasons. Following this, Falguni married Patel, but the relationship with Sharma reportedly resumed later, ultimately culminating in the alleged murder conspiracy.
The duo allegedly hired a man identified as Nikunj, who remains absconding, paying him Rs 35,000 to carry out the crime. The elaborate plot involved multiple participants working in coordination to execute what they believed would be the perfect murder.
Key developments in the case include:
- Seven persons arrested, including Falguni Patel and Kaushik Sharma
- Mobile phone evidence confirming the relationship between the alleged conspirators
- Identification of multiple participants through CCTV footage and witness statements
- Recovery of evidence linking the accused to the planned murder
The Vadodara police continue their investigation as they search for the remaining absconding accused while building a comprehensive case against those already in custody. This shocking case has highlighted how domestic disputes can escalate into criminal conspiracies with potentially deadly consequences.
