Villagers aid police in Bokaro to arrest two youths with illegal gun

Bokaro: Two youths from Dhanbad were arrested in Bhandra Baradih village under Nawadih police station on Saturday evening after they were allegedly found waving an illegal firearm and trying to create panic, police said.

The action followed a tip-off to SP Nathu Singh Meena, who directed a police team to rush to the village. With active help from local residents, police detained the suspects and took them into custody.

During a search, police recovered a country-made 7.65mm pistol and seven live cartridges from their possession. A scooter allegedly used by the accused was also seized.

The arrested youths were identified as Suraj Kumhar, 24, and Sagar Kumar Ravani, 22, both residents of Dhanbad district. Police registered a case under the Arms Act and produced them in court, which remanded them in judicial custody. Further investigation is underway, the SP said.
