Vizag Court Imposes Life Sentence on Serial Killer for 2022 Triple Homicide
A court in Visakhapatnam, commonly known as Vizag, delivered a significant verdict on Thursday, sentencing serial killer Chandaka Rambabu, aged 49, to life imprisonment. According to police reports, Rambabu's violent spree began in August 2022 when he battered to death Suthari Apparao, 72, and his wife Suthari Lakshmi, 62. Both victims were employed as guards at an under-construction building located in the Sapthagirinagar area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Pendurthi police station in Vizag. The double murder sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, highlighting vulnerabilities in security at construction sites.
In a chilling escalation, just a few days after these killings, Rambabu struck again. He murdered Appikonda Lakshmi at Sujatha Nagar in Pendurthi, where she was also working in another under-construction building. Court's Ruling and Financial Penalties
The court not only handed down the life sentence but also imposed additional penalties to address the gravity of the crimes. Rambabu was slapped with a fine of Rs 30,000 for each of the two murder cases, totaling Rs 60,000.
