A violent robbery in west Delhi left a young man fighting for his life on Saturday. The incident unfolded near the railway line in Naraina, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Attack Near Railway Tracks
A 25-year-old man suffered critical injuries after being stabbed during a robbery. The attack occurred at A-85, Naraina, close to the Jawahar Camp area. Police received information that a group of youths had assaulted the victim.
Victim's Identity and Background
The injured man was identified as Ravi, a resident of Uttam Nagar. He works as a dispatch manager for a mobile oil company in Nangloi. Police records reveal Ravi was previously involved in a culpable homicide case registered at Uttam Nagar police station in 2021.
Sequence of Events
Ravi told investigators he had visited an acquaintance named Gurmukh in the Jawahar Camp jhuggi. His purpose was to collect Rs 18,000 in cash. After obtaining the money and starting his journey home, the situation turned violent.
According to his statement, a man named Sumit attacked him with a knife. Another individual, Akash, snatched the cash from him. Meanwhile, Nikhil and Naveen allegedly struck him on the head and pushed him to the ground. The assailants then fled the scene.
Police Response and Arrest
By the time police personnel reached the location, Ravi had already been moved to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Authorities have registered a case based on the complaint.
In a significant development, police have arrested one of the accused. Nikhil, aged 23, is now in custody as investigations continue to apprehend the remaining individuals involved in this brutal crime.
