A woman advocate practicing at the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Vibhuti Khand police station, alleging that she received obscene phone calls, abusive WhatsApp messages, and threats of sexual violence from a man who was pressuring her to secure bail for an accused in a criminal case.
Details of the Complaint
According to the complaint, the advocate, a resident of Vijayant Khand in Gomtinagar, stated that she received a phone call on November 29, 2025, from a mobile number. The caller sought her assistance in obtaining bail for one Vijay alias Golu, a resident of Akbarpur in Kanpur district who is currently residing in Barabanki. The caller allegedly insisted that the accused be granted bail by December 2025.
However, the advocate informed the caller that the High Court had already scheduled the matter for hearing in January 2026 and expressed her inability to intervene in the judicial process.
Escalation of Harassment
The advocate alleged that on December 8, the same individual repeatedly called her and sent objectionable text and voice messages via WhatsApp, using abusive and vulgar language directed at her and her family. The accused also allegedly threatened to come to the High Court premises and sexually assault her.
The complainant informed the police that she has preserved the voice recordings on a pen drive as evidence. Police have registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the matter.
