A 35-year-old woman has been taken into custody by Kaushambi police on Wednesday on charges of killing her husband. According to police, the accused, identified as Gudia, a resident of Pabhosa village, had a heated argument with her husband Pappu Nishad (40) on the evening of May 18 after he returned home in an inebriated state. In a fit of rage, she attacked him with a brick, causing severe injuries.

Incident Details

The altercation escalated quickly when Nishad arrived home drunk. Gudia, unable to control her anger, struck him with a brick, inflicting critical wounds. Initially, Nishad was treated at a local facility, but his condition worsened over the following days.

Death and Arrest

On Wednesday morning, Nishad's health deteriorated further. He was rushed to a private hospital by his father and nephew, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival. A team from Paschim Sarira police station immediately sent the body for post-mortem examination and arrested Gudia. She is currently in police custody and will be produced before a magistrate.
