ERODE: The Gobichettipalayam police in Erode district on Wednesday arrested a 38-year-old woman on charges of murdering her husband. According to police, Amudha, 38, of Pichandampalayam stabbed her husband, S Thangaraj, 41, to death following a family dispute on Wednesday.
Background of the Incident
Gobichettipalayam DSP Srinivasan said that Thangaraj, who was a drunkard, used to quarrel with Amudha after consuming alcohol. On Wednesday, Thangaraj returned home drunk and engaged in a heated argument with her. “Amudha grabbed a knife and stabbed him to death,” the DSP added.
Family Details
The couple have two children, who are now under the care of relatives. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
