Woman Brutally Assaulted in Rangareddy Village, Four Arrested
A horrific case of assault against a woman has been reported from Edhira village, located under the jurisdiction of the Jilled Chowdergudem police station in Rangareddy district. The police have registered a formal case based on the detailed statement provided by the injured victim, who is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Government Hospital in Shadnagar.
Details of the Assault Incident
According to the official complaint filed with the authorities, the 34-year-old victim had been in a live-in relationship with a local villager following the tragic death of her husband four years ago. The incident unfolded on the night of April 13, when the primary accused allegedly became suspicious that the woman was speaking to others over her mobile phone. In a fit of rage, he snatched her phone away, subjected her to verbal abuse, and physically assaulted her.
Later, when the woman went to the accused's farm house in an attempt to recover her mobile phone, the situation escalated dramatically. The accused, along with his son, allegedly launched a vicious attack on her. The son reportedly dragged her into a room, tied her hands and legs tightly with a rope, tore her blouse, and brutally beat her with a stick and a metal pipe, causing severe bleeding injuries.
Villagers' Response and Police Action
Shockingly, two other villagers who arrived at the scene allegedly abused the victim further and advised her to settle the matter privately before the village elders, rather than seeking immediate justice. While she was being forcibly dragged towards the village, the victim reportedly lost consciousness near a local school due to the trauma and injuries sustained.
The police have taken swift action by registering a formal case under relevant sections of the law and launching a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
