A shocking incident of violence marred Christmas night celebrations in Bareilly, where a woman was seriously injured after being struck on the head with a glass bottle inside a popular club. The local police have launched a manhunt for the accused individuals following the brutal assault.
Details of the Christmas Night Assault
The victim, identified as Mahak Gupta, a resident of Ashutosh City, had visited the My Bar Headquarters hotel for dinner on Wednesday night, accompanied by her brother. According to the police complaint, an argument erupted between Mahak and a group of men over a table. The situation quickly escalated when the men, who were allegedly in an inebriated state, began hurling abuses before turning physically violent.
In a particularly brutal move, one of the assailants smashed a glass bottle on Mahak Gupta's head, causing her to bleed profusely on the spot. She named Shainit Srivastava, Saloni Patel, Dhruv Rai, Aman Rai, Chirag Gupta, and a few others as being involved in the attack.
Alleged Negligence and Police Response
In her complaint, Mahak Gupta alleged that the bouncers and security staff at the hotel failed to intervene during the altercation. She claimed they did nothing to stop the assault or detain the attackers, who managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident.
Police were informed and promptly reached the location. The injured woman was rushed to the district hospital for a thorough medical examination. A video recording of the violent episode surfaced on Saturday, adding to the evidence.
