Woman Dies After Fall From Kolkata Spa Amid Moral Policing

A woman in her late 20s reportedly jumped to her death from the third floor of a building near City Centre II in Rajarhat on Sunday afternoon. The deceased, a resident of Barasat, worked at a spa operating from the same premises.

Incident Details

According to the Eco Park police, the incident took place shortly after around 10 men allegedly forced their way into the spa. Investigators said the intruders attempted to carry out moral policing and began videographing the employees inside the establishment. Police confirmed that the spa was operating legally and possessed all necessary documents.

Uncertain Link to Death

While the timing of the fall coincided with the group's presence at the spa, senior officers said it was still unclear whether the woman's death was directly linked to the alleged moral policing incident. No suicide note was found at the scene, and the victim's family has not yet lodged a formal complaint with police.

We contacted her family using a phone number found on her mobile handset, as she was not using her real name at the workplace, a police officer said.

Investigation Underway

Cops are now scanning CCTV footage from the building and surrounding areas to identify the men who barged into the spa. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are awaiting further details from the victim's family.
