A tragic fire incident in Bengaluru's eastern suburb claimed the life of a young woman in the early hours of Friday. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Nivedha, succumbed to asphyxiation after a blaze erupted inside her apartment while she was asleep.

The fire broke out in a flat located on the third floor of the Sai Srushti apartment complex in KR Puram. According to police reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 am on Friday, May 23. Preliminary investigations strongly point towards a short circuit as the cause of the fire.
Nivedha was alone in the flat at the time of the incident. Her husband, Manjunath Naik, was not present as he works in another city. The fire is believed to have started in the living room area. Thick, toxic smoke quickly filled the apartment, leading to the woman's death due to smoke inhalation before the flames could even reach her.
