Tragic Double Death in Aligarh: Woman Found Dead, Boyfriend Dies by Suicide
In a heartbreaking incident in Aligarh district, the semi-nude body of a 20-year-old woman was discovered in a deserted village area on Saturday morning. This grim find came just one day after her 25-year-old boyfriend allegedly ended his own life by jumping in front of a train, according to police reports.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The young man, identified as a contract worker, and the woman were neighbors who had been in a secret relationship, unknown to their families. The situation escalated when the woman's family arranged her marriage to someone else, creating significant tension.
Family members revealed that the woman had left her home on Friday afternoon under the pretext of buying medicine but never returned. Before taking his own life, the man reportedly called his brother, confessing that his girlfriend was dead and expressing his intention to end his life as well.
Allegations and Evidence
A disturbing 12-second video has surfaced on social media, purportedly showing the man walking on railway tracks, with the clip concluding with the words, "The End." This has added to the chilling nature of the case.
The woman's family has made serious allegations, claiming she was raped and murdered. Her brother stated, "I saw my sister's body. A piece of cloth was stuffed in her mouth, a scarf was wrapped around her neck, and she was half-naked. I believe she was murdered and sexually assaulted."
Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings
Police authorities have confirmed that both bodies have been sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact causes of death. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Tomar stated, "Proceedings for an inquest and postmortem are being conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Further legal action is underway."
The investigation is ongoing, with police awaiting the postmortem reports to guide their next steps. This tragic case has highlighted issues of secret relationships, family pressures, and the devastating consequences that can arise from such situations in rural India.
